The place "White landmark" Phu Long commune
Location here
Located on road 356, in Phu Long commune, White landmark is the name of a place in the commune, marking the beginning or end (in two directions) of flat terrain, alluvial to duplicate rocky mountains of Cat Ba archipelago. Built in 1959, 1960 under the coordination of Chinese engineers and Vietnamese army, the column is 12m high, located on a hanging cliff, the top has a flat roof and a railing for standing.

The steel stairs installed outside to the top of the observation deck have been damaged over time. Initially, the column was painted white, the seafarers looked from afar to see a large white column on the blue cliff, called "White landmark", and at the same time, the functional units that day used it as a ship observation station. Boats go to the mouth of the district's creek today and make artillery coordinates.
