Natural area is 1,073.09 ha, population 893 people, 249 households, divided into 4 villages.
Xuan Dam used to have different names: U village, Xuan Ang village, Viet Hung village. Villages and hamlets also have names with their own characteristics, reflecting the process of population convergence, community development, the close relationship between life, people and nature. Formerly Cat Don village (now Hamlet 1) is also known as Ra village, because of its sandy beach and the citadel of the Mac dynasty, it is called Cat Don. East hamlet is the place where the population lives the most (now Hamlet 2). Hamlet Dinh is where the communal house was built (now Hamlet 3). Tung Ruong village (now Hamlet 4) is home to a lot of agricultural land.
Blessed by nature for the diversity of precious flora and fauna, the air and noise environment has not been polluted, so Xuan Dam is a place with great potential for developing honey bee farming. Wild flowers are an extremely large and precious source of nectar and pollen, creating a brand of Cat Ba forest flower honey, dark yellow, dense, with a delicious taste for high nutritional value. Honey on the island has also been certified by the Ministry of Science and Technology as "Cat Ba Honey"...
