Vietnam has a coastline of more than 3000km, ranking 32nd in the world. The whole country has a total of 28 provinces and cities bordering the sea stretching from North to South with many beautiful coastal roads.
Cat Ba coastal road is about 25 km long, extending from Got ferry to the center of Cat Ba town, is one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the North. Belonging to route 356 officially put into operation on March 31, 2002 with a road surface width of 6.5m that day.
This road has a very unique terrain with one side is the immense blue sea, the other side is majestic mountains and forests, winding along the rocky mountains, there ara small rustic villages, communes through the road...such as Phu Long commune, Hien Hao commune, Xuan Dam commune, Tran Chau commune.
The winding points around the mountain create bends and slopes that remind us of the roads in the Northwest mountains, but it is much softer and easier to move.
Especially, through each bend, it opens before our eyes a vast blue sky and sea that attractive appearing before our eyes from one painting to another, from one surprise to another surprise.
Recently, the road has been repaired and expanded, the road surface is 12m wide, the asphalt concrete carpet, the sidewalk is 3m wide on each side, planted with more confetti flowers, rice flowers on both sides of the road, adorning the road more and more attractive.
In the spring - the season of wild flowers blooming, the pure white color of Ban forest flowers, the brilliant yellow of “Chieng Chieng” flowers, mixed with red, pink, yellow and white colors of bougainvillea flowers bloom all year round.
In March is the red color of rice flowers, or in the winter is Lau flowers season. These are great “check-in” places not to be missed.
On this coastal road, the local government has built 3 scenic huts to create a highlight for those who love to "check-in", take pictures and also a stopover for rest and relax in wild nature...In each hill, there is a hut was built over 147m² wide, 11m high, made of ironwood.
The landscaped huts are designed in octagonal shape, have wide open space and are located in a prime location that can cover the whole beautiful natural scenery on Cat Ba archipelago.
