Cat Ba National Park is an extremely unique national park in the system of national parks of Vietnam, the first national park in the country established with both forest and marine ecosystems.

Cat Ba National Park is a typical example of typical tropical and subtropical marine - island ecosystems including primeval rainforest ecosystem on limestone island, mangrove ecosystem, coral reef ecosystem, tidal flat ecosystem, cave ecosystem, lake ecosystem salty, bay, pine, aqua.

These ecosystems are adjacent and follow each other, creating extremely rich landscapes and habitats. The park is also the only conservation area of Vietnam and the world where populations of Cat Ba langur exist.

8.00: Bus and our experience tour guide pick you up at your hotel in Cat Ba town to National Park.

8.30: Arrive National Park gate, take entrance fee and start trekking.

8.30 -11.30: On the trail through the tropical forest you will be immersed in nature and will see some mammals such as mink, squirrel, monkey, bird and many butterflies.

Especially if you are lucky you will see species yellow-headed langurs, one of the rarest animals are listed in Red Book, climb over 3 mountains named locally as: “Áng Vắt, Mây Bầu, Áng Phay”

11.30: In after 2.5 hours trekking with distance about 6 km, you will stop at the frog pond. This is the largest freshwater lake in the middle of the National Forest.

From frog pond’s bottom, reaching up thousands of “Va Nuoc” trees, the species is only found in the Frog ponds not anywhere else in Cat Ba island. There are many types of fish and crab in the pond, take a rest 30 minutes here.

12.00 - 13.00: Continue trekking from Frog Pond up the last mountain named “Dọc Dài” to Viet Hai village (4 km), This is a small ancient village of local residents with about 100 families.

13.00: Have lunch and take a rest at Viet Hai village.

14.00: free to explore the lives of people in the village, take a walk or bicycling 5km to Viet Hai harbor.

14.30: Get on travel boat through Lan Ha Bay, you have a great time exploring Lan Ha Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in the world.

The boat stops at a floating house to take kayak then rows to one of the natural beaches for swimming - a great time to immerse yourself in Lan Ha bay’s clear blue water

15.30: Boat takes you back to Cai Beo wharf, you can visit Cai Beo Fishing floating village on way back.

Cai Beo was formed hundreds years ago, associated with the process of ancient Cat Ba’s residents moved from forest to the sea to find food from the ocean.

16.45: Arrive Cai Beo wharf, car take you back Cat Ba town center. Finish journey and see you again.

After rainy days, the trail in the forest may be slippery, please follow the instructions of our tour guide.

Do not walking seperate as you may get lost in the forest. This program requires health, advise not joining: the old, weak health, children under 8 years old.

Best day in Vietnam so far Where do I start, It was a last minute decision to book this excursion late at night, but wow was it worth it. We done a full trek of the national park with our guide over 12km of memorising scenery. We then stopped at a local restaurant for a bite to eat and get our feet nibbled at by little fish. We then done 5km bike ride to a small port where a little boat was waiting for us to take us kayaking and swimming. Our guide Ba done everything with us too by the way, a lovely man of 60 and he done the trek, cycle, and kayak with us. Very impressed. When all this was finished we got back onto the boat and sailed back to the harbour a where a taxi was waiting for us. Thank you for such a magnificent day. And I highly recommend to anyone in cat ba to do this with these guys and trekking trip in Cat Ba island
