Lan Ha Bay is an arc-shaped calm water bay with 388 large and small islands covered with green trees spread over an area of 70 square kilometers, a beautiful appearance that nature bestows on the sky and sea of Vietnam. Located in surrounding Cat Ba archipelago, Lan Ha Bay is like a giant fanciful picture, both vivid and unspoiled.
Owning 139 beaches with long stretches of fine sand, clear blue and peaceful water such as: Van Boi, Ba Trai Dao... Calm waters such as Sen island, Cu island, Monkey island... are places discover the mysteries of nature and enjoy moments of real relaxation.
The interesting combination between the sea and the sky and the rich cave system is also one of the attractions of Lan Ha. In which, it is necessary to mention the Bright cave, the Dark cave with the spectacular cliffs surrounding the cave, the water in the cave in four seasons is clear and calm.
In May 2020, Lan Ha Bay was awarded a certificate by the Association of the World's Most Beautiful Bays Club as an official member of the most beautiful bays in the world.

One of the differences compared to neighboring bays is that of Lan Ha Bay, there are 139 natural sandbanks located at the foot of the cliffs, where there are strong waves or currents. Over thousands of years, the ocean's bamboo has brought fragments of shells, snails, corals, and weathered rocks.
The amount of sand is very fine, some beaches will be flooded at high tide. Coral reefs often stretch along the beaches down to the shelf of the bay where many marine species live: clams, oysters, fish, shrimp, crabs... Visitors should bring your diving goggles to see the coral reefs with colorful marine life at these beaches.
The natural beach on Lan Ha Bay is a beautiful place to pair small boats, kayaks, swim, sunbathe, camp, organize collective activities… on the beach. Some closed beaches at low tide have to go through caves to get inside, the density of natural beaches is most concentrated in the areas of Ba Trai Dao, Ba Cat Bang, Monkey Island, Van Boi, the eastern exit of Lan Ha Bay towards Dau Be Islands.
