Hon Rua (turtle island)

is one of 388 islands in Cat Ba archipelago, the island has a small area but the characteristics and shape are very similar to the name, named by seafarers hundreds of years ago.
Viewed from above, Turtle Island looks like a moving mascot on the green jade strip of Lan Ha Bay. Turtle Island is covered by the rich flora of Cat Ba archipelago, so it is green all year round. Located on the main sightseeing route of Lan Ha Bay to Hon Rua is an indispensable island for every tourist visiting the bay. With its unique position and animal shape, the Sea Turtle represents a gentle, stable creature, hundreds of years old of the Northeast sea and island region, and is one of the four folklore mascots. “Dragon – unicorn – Turtle – Phoenix”.
On March 30, 2019, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to the fishing village, the traditional day of Vietnam's seafood industry and the opening of Cat Ba tourism in 2019, the Vietnam Intellectual Property Department announced Decision, decided to issue a certificate of trademark registration "Cat Ba Green, the beauty of nature" to the People's Committee of Cat Hai district. The symbol of Cat Ba tourism industry has the main design like Turtle island - one of the four mascots of folklore.
